What will it cost?

CNC cutting is priced per square foot and the rate moves with steel prices, sheet thickness and how intricate the pattern is. Rather than publish a number that goes stale, send us your measurements and we'll get you current quotes from fabricators near you.

About CNC Gate Designs in Pakistan

A main gate is the one piece of metalwork everyone sees, and CNC cutting is why the crisp, patterned gates on new houses across Lahore, Gujranwala and Karachi look the way they do.

Gates carry their own weight and swing, so thickness matters more here than on a window grill: most main gates use 3mm to 5mm sheet, often with a heavier frame behind a lighter decorative panel. That two-layer approach is common and worth asking about, because it keeps the gate from sagging while keeping the cut panel affordable.

The pattern also changes the price more than people expect. An open geometric design cuts quickly; a dense floral or jali pattern can take several times as long on the machine for the same square footage.

Common questions

What sheet thickness should a main gate be?

Most main gates use 3mm to 5mm. Many fabricators build a heavier frame and hang a thinner decorative cut panel on it, which keeps the gate rigid without paying for thick sheet across the whole face.

Laser or plasma cutting for a gate?

Plasma is the economical choice for thicker mild steel and is what most gates are cut with in Pakistan. Fiber laser gives a cleaner edge and finer detail, which shows on intricate patterns and on stainless steel, at a higher rate.

How long does a CNC gate take to make?

Cutting is fast, often a day. The lead time is in fabrication, finishing and installation, so plan on one to three weeks depending on the workshop backlog and whether you want powder coating.

Can a CNC gate be automated?

Yes. Tell the fabricator before they build it: an automated gate needs the right frame, wheels or hinges and a motor mounting point designed in from the start, not retrofitted.
